On Dec 9, 2015 (Wed) the first meeting of V4 (Visegrád Group) Embassies and V4 Chamber of Commerce in Japan was held. The meeting was initiated by the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan, Mr. Roman Watanabe, Chairman of the Chamber as currently in the years 2015–2016 Czech Republic is holding the presidency of the Group.
The meeting was an important milestone in the further strengthening of co-operation between the member countries of the Visegrád Group and Japan in the following fields: trade, investment and tourism. The Agenda was focused on the ways how the V4 countries could work together to better further improve their relations with Japan in the three areas of co-operation and exchange.
Some joint events are to be held in 2016. One of new developments is the establishment in January 2016 of a new regular flight connection between Tokyo (Narita Airport) and Warsaw, Poland which will bring the region closer to the Japanese people as well as Japan to the V4 citizens.
